Our Place

Everyone is shaped by the physical and psychological spaces they inhabit—and, in turn, we actively shape these environments ourselves. Our relationship to place can offer a sense of belonging and comfort, or it can feel restrictive, defining the boundaries of our experiences and choices.
The phrase Our Place may evoke domestic familiarity: a welcoming environment formed through shared rituals, relationships, and everyday acts of care. It may also extend outward—to a broader sense of belonging within our local landscape, where beaches, flora, and fauna frame and accompany daily life.
At the same time, Our Place can suggest something more prescribed—social expectations or roles shaped by external forces. If we consider our collective context as 21st-century regional Australia, we are prompted to ask: what is my place within this place?
